Flemishin the stars: Series of 19 photographs

After having treated the super hero theme a first time with his “Mamika” series, Sacha Goldberger explores once again his childhood emblematic characters with a Flemish Renaissance “twist”.

What if Superman was born in the sixteenth century?
And what if the Hulk was a Duke?
How would Van Eyck have painted Snow White?

For this series, Sacha Goldberger wanted to confront these American iconic figures and the Flemish Renaissance artistic movement and repatriate them from distant America to heart of old Europe.

Sacha highlights the fragility and nobility of these almighty beings by playing with the light and the material. When you capture the light, you also seize the dimness and obscurity.

When science fiction and historical art meet, time merges into the inexhaustible desire for mythology that lies within each of us.

These contemporary heroes become for an instant, the time of a pose, a person like you or me.
